Tip #1 CUTTING NAILS!
From a very young age we start cutting the kittens
front and back nails. They get cut once a week even
if its just a small trim. This will help them get used
to having their nails cut and teach them that all the
rolling and fussing over getting your nails trimmed
is really not worth it!
Some Bengals still do not like getting their nails
trimmed. The BEST time to cut nails are when they
are sleeping. Hold their paw out and simply cut with
your kitty clippers to right above the their skin. Be
careful though you don't want to cut them or you will
always have a fight on your hands!!! I normally cut
nails by myself and don't need assistance. Thats
why I suggest naptime being the easiest. Some kitten
will watch you and are still out of it to get up and
move, others will only let you cut 2 or 3 nails before
wanting to get up. That is fine, wait until a little
later and finish the rest. ( Picture is of a man

they will have good water habits. Some take to it and some
don't. When bathing your Bengal make sure first the nails are

what they want. This is where Our one on one
comes in. I refuse to have company over and

How embarrassing!! This is where.....a spray
bottle comes into play. Training with water
some people think is crazy because these cats
are suppose to like water. I agree. BUT when
you tell them NO and spray them, its a
shock and they will jump right down. If you
start them off as kittens and continue to do
this, it will only take several times and they
will get the point!

Teaching your kitty to sit.
We love playing with baby Bengals and teaching
them how to sit. The first thing you do is, take a
treat and hold it over there head until they sit down,
once they have done that say Good Girl, or Good Boy
and reward them. Extremely easy to do.

Our new and upcoming stud Godric hadn't been walked on a harness or leash when we got him. We were getting ready to go out of town and I was determined to take him with us. Godric and I rode on our lawn mower for 30 minutes before getting in the car and heading out of town! Godric did great! At first he was extremely scared, but once he saw I had a grip on him and comforting him he knew that he was going to be okay. After the Lawn mower ride I placed his harness and leash on him and "walked" him around the yard. I know he preferred riding the lawn mower!!! I would drag him a little in the grass to get him to stand up and he would do fine. So we packed up put him and his litter box in the car and took off. I took him to the beach and let him play in the sand and he did WONDERFUL!!! This boy hadn't been anywhere outside of his comfort zone so this was important to push him. Trust is key when getting your pets do to something they don't want to. I have a past kitten buyer Jeanne who takes Webster everywhere she goes. He recently just got back from Montana. My point is if you train them, they will do it. My parents also have a Bengal, she went on her first Beach trip at 6 months old to the coast and rode great, and loved being there. Again its all about Trust!! Hey Kellie, Check out my little man! He is soooo cool. We had so much fun with him on our trip out west. He was so good and let's not forget entertaining. We camped in an open field. There were 1000's of grass hoppers. He loved it to death!!! He chased and chased the grass hoppers. We all had a great time. I thought you would enjoy some of the pictures I took of him. Marty said we drive 3000 miles and we have more pictures of Webster than anything else. He is such a ham! When people see him, of course they want to pet him. Well, he just prances and prances like oh yea....I KNOW I am cute...go ahead, just rub my head! It is so funny. He loves people and dogs! I am going to get him on the motorcycle next! He will already sit on the seat. I think he will be fine. As long as he is with us...he does not care what we are doing. I will keep you posted! LOL Jeanne Here is another past kitten buyer Billy taking Caspian on a walk and said he did wonderful!!! I just started harness training and leash training last night. It went so well, I decided to take him out this morning. He loved it! I was happy to let him play outside and I cant wait to keep giving that type of exposure. Here are some recent photos! Thanks!
